Alone

i see people drifting away,
day by day they grow apart,
and no amount of messengers and orkut can glue them together,
each wrapped in his own cocoon,
i wonder if they'll ever metamorphose...

am i noticing it now?
or has it always been happening?
or have i entered that phase of my life with all my friends and family growing up, coming of age,
going in search of education, jobs, careers...

i have never experienced this in my life,
this is what they should teach us in school,
coping with the realities, with 'distance' ,
with being 'alone'.

Is it not ok to be needy sometimes?
(Mind you, ‘sometimes’)
so its not so cool to show you can be vulnerable once in a while,
but everyone is, at some point of their lives or another
then why not admit it?
Why hide behind a curtain of ‘make-belief’,
Why make your life some sort of page 3 party?

Because we don’t trust each other enough
Because we have slowly, without realizing it, grown apart from each other.
Until we find ourselves, stranded on an unreachable island
Surrounded by a sea of distrust
A sea we have given rise to ourselves.

i like the way u have put ur words, but i believe life has much more to offer than negative thoughts. Take a look at the greener side and get on with smthing new. And never forget, the more u give the more u get, though from whom and when is not known. This mystery takes living life to a totally different level.
so chill yashada! and keep blogging.

It's called 'growing up', babe... when you realise that - FINALLY, you are alone. Gulzar said it so beautifully in this song - 'apni tanhai ka auron se na shikwa karna, tum akele hi nahi ho, sabhi akele hain....'. These lines helped me realise that it's not negative after all .. we are all 'alone'. Of course, it will be negative if you choose to be 'lonely'. There's a subtle difference between the two, and understanding that difference constitutes real growing up!
